Phonics Mini-Bites is a program designed for young learners to acquire English reading skills easily and quickly. Each unit introduces a set of four letters along with their corresponding phonetic sounds. These letters are then used to construct four words, which are further reinforced and practiced through engaging reading, writing, and fun activities.
New Words pages introduce the focus sounds, letters, and words being practiced throughout the unit. There are two extra fun activities to practice the words and letters. In the first activity, children color a picture by matching sight words in the picture with the corresponding color-coded words. In the second activity, children follow a letter pattern through a maze to help Panda find the treasure.
Letter Tracing pages provide students with an opportunity to practice writing, while two additional activities help them practice words and reading in a creative way.
The Start Sound pages assist students in connecting letter sounds with the initial sounds of words, which is crucial for learning to read. Once children grasp this connection, their vocabulary and basic phonics skills further support their learning.
The Listen and Write pages assess children’s learning and teach them listening skills.
The Reading pages teach a focus word and use images to assist with reading, keeping it simple for new learners.
